Hello Polly!
One of the fun things about touring our exhibitions is that every so often we can update them. Sometime we’ll build a new version of an existing model - sometimes it’s a completely new model. So, let me introduce you to ‘Polly’ the Polacanthus!
Brick City opens in Guernsey
Last week Teresa and I took another ferry trip, this time to the Channel Island of Guernsey, to install Brick City.
This is our first foray into the Channel Islands and there were a couple of other firsts too:
Our St Pancras model has been spruced up and is now sporting all-new barriers and interpretation.
Guernsey also marks the first time that Brick City has been accompanied by the Digital Companion. You can access details on all of our models by scanning the QR code, or tapping your device against it. I’ve even recorded audio guides for all the models and some cheesy voice-overs.
Brick History comes to Peterborough (and your phone!)
Looking for something to do this half term? Brick History just opened in Peterborough and NEW for 2022, you can explore our models online as well!
(New!) Brick City opens in Leicester today!
All of our exhibition openings are coming thick and fast now! This week it’s the turn of Leicester Museum (formally the New Walk Museum)
We installed Brick City a little while back, as it was one of the more challenging layouts. Working with the museum, we developed a complete one-way system to help visitors social distance whilst making sure they didn’t miss out on any of the show. It’s actually worked out really well.
Brick History comes to Cambridge (but you'll need to be quick!
Overnight on Sunday, we were in the Grand Arcade in Cambridge. A shopping centre with all the shops shut. Why? To install Brick History throughout the arcade for the next two weeks!
Brick Wonders opens at The Atkinson, Southport
It’s been a very strange summer for everyone this year. Thankfully though, the UK is slowly starting to open up again. With museums and galleries opening as well, what better way to make your visit even more exciting than a LEGO exhibition?
Our response to the Coronavirus, particularly our touring exhibitions.
It’s been a challenging month for us all here.
With staff furloughed to ensure a safe office environment, many projects have had to be put on hold. Similarly impacted have of course been all of our touring exhibitions. With the UK on lockdown, it has been simply impossible to collect or deliver exhibitions as we have previously done.
Brick City at The Base Greenham Common
Brick City has arrived at ‘The Base’ in Greenham Common.
The Base is a great new arts and exhibition venue which opened in early 2019 , the centre has several ‘in residence’ artists working from studio spaces on the first floor… but there are is now an influx of new residents on the ground floor - MINIFIGURES !
Brick Wonders is open at the Horniman Museum throughout the summer
The majority of our exhibition stay in a single venue for a few months, then they move on. Sometimes it’s much less - but sometimes it’s more. Especially when a large, busy, London museum needs a crowd pleaser for the summer!
Exhibitions all over! Looking for something to do this summer?
Wow, June has been a busy month! Not only have the team been BIG Building all over the UK (more on that soon), but we've also been moving our exhibitions around for the summer run. This time of the year is always busy, but I think we've maxed it out for 2018!
The snow must go on!
We've just installed Brick Dinos into Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar despite the Beast from the East dropping lots of snow on us. It hasn't stopped us yet, but it has meant we've had to stay put in our hotel in Guisborough for a little longer than planned.
Celebrating Scottish tourism
VisitScotland is celebrating "spectacular" growth in visitors to Scotland's museums and attractions, and we're delighted that they've chosen our Brick City exhibition on its New Lanark visit to headline this article in The Scotsman. We think that deserves a celebration!
