Big Black... Roosters.

Around this time last year, Teresa and I were in Portugal for the first Paredes de Coura LEGO fan weekend. Not their first event, but the first as a fully fledged hub event. Anyway, the event last year was fantastic. I'll be honest in that we had no idea what to expect, but whatever ideas we might have had were blown away by the hospitality, generosity and professionalism of the event. Obviously went back this year!

As we left last year I offered to make the event a large-scale version of their mascot. Something maybe 6x larger than normal so it would fit nicely on the registration desk. That idea grew legs; we all met up again for the Danish hub event and 6x had somehow become 26x....

So here we are again in Portugal! This time with what should have been the whole team (but poor Guy was very sick for the week), some truly amazing volunteer helpers (Mark, Dirk and Sonja - we couldn't have done it without you stepping in!) and of course a few bricks. Around 40,000 in fact.

I hope you like the results as much as we do. A big thanks to Miguel and the team for organising everything on the Portuguese end, LEGO for supplying the bricks and of course all the builders. Maybe we'll take it easy next time ;-)
