Awesome Bricks 2019
We were back at the National Museum of Flight for Awesome Bricks 2019, and it was awesome! It is always an incredible experience and it was wonderful to be back for our third year at the museum - making things even bigger and better! There was a wealth of attractions and activities for visitors of all ages!
Visitors could challenge themselves with a variety of free-building activities, from using standard 2x4 LEGO Bricks to create whatever their imagination could think of, to vehicle building challenges to navigate our custom race tracks.
Alongside these activities, we created an enormous 4x2 metre mosaic of an airship (using over 30,000 LEGO bricks) - to commemorate the first successful return transatlantic crossing by airship from the Scotland to the USA. This mosaic was flanked by brick-built flags that visitors also helped construct. And a very special guest greeted visitors to the Museum Shop - our version of Wopsie the cat, who was smuggled on board by her owner, who was one of the stewards on the flight!
As well as the brilliant exhibits at the museum and the build activities we also had some fabulous displays by LEGO fans from across Scotland and the UK - showcasing vintage and current LEGO sets, as well as amazing custom builds.
