Brick Dinos - Pteradactyl
Components:
Pterodactyl (body, wings and box of claws)
Backdrop - standard modulate fabric-sock-over-aluminium-frame.
Flying strops, steels, grippers, shackles, and tools for their installation.
PIR Speaker
Box of spare parts
All items are stored in the same flightcase as the Pteradactyl
Set-up:
Place flying points in the ceiling in desired location & attach steels to them. Have at least 3: 1 for each wing and one for lifting the body backwards. Ensure that hte model is either high enough to be out of touch-range or that the space below it will be suitably cordoned off.
Put up the fabric backdrop.
Place the Pterodactyl body on a rug on top of the flight case. Support it as necessary.
Remove access panels from top & bottom of each shoulder - see pics. Remove p-clips and pins.
One at a time: place wing onto the protruding metal bar. Pushing against resistance of someone holding the opposite side, use a rubber mallet to persuade the wing to go onto the metal bar. This is a tight fit. Once in place, put the pin through the joint and secure with the p-clip. Replace the access panels top & bottom. Repeat for second wing.
Add the claws to the mid-point of front of each wing. Do this before lifting into final position.
Use Materials lifter or similar to raise the Pterodactyl to desired height for display. Do this in conjunction with someone on a working platform tightening the steel cables to adjust the model to the final desired positioning.
Exact rigging is dependent on local regulations and locations. As a guide;
Use all 4 rigging points
Connect safety steels between wings and body
Make sure model cannot swing in the wind
Liasie with venue to decide if the Egg Next model is to be placed underneath the Pterodactyl or if they are placing any other barriers etc.
Place PIR speaker so it will be triggered when visitors approach the model. Ensure you have access to a power socket and plug in the speaker.
Turn on and set volume as desired.
Venue are responsible for other lighting.
Other notes:
KEEP ALL PACKAGING - store in flightcase
