Is it February already?

Miss Piggy is joined by a couple of friends - all ready and waiting to drive into the Horniman Gardens.

Wow, January 2023 went fast for us! It’s an early start into our exhibition series though as we’re just back from installing Brick Dinos in the Horniman Museum and Gardens. More details available here direct from the Horniman.

The team were down in London for a full week, as it was also time for the exhibition plinths to have some love devoted to them. New perspex, repainted surfaces and all new replacement vinyls. Lots to do, but it does look ace!

‘Polly’ in her new home.

Of course, this was also the first outing for Polly, our new Polacanthus model shown here in all her glory.

To make sure that our exhibits are safe in museum settings, we need to recreate natural scenes with no natural materials! It took quite some sourcing for Teresa to do. We try to source locally to reduce our carbon footprint - but sometimes it’s just not possible and that turned out to be the case here. As well as our great UK suppliers, this scene includes components from both China and the USA.

Of course, nothing will be wasted and when it’s time for Brick Dinos to move on again, we’ll re-use absolutely everything you see here!

Teresa, looking pleased that the unload is finished!

Teresa, looking pleased that everything is at least out of the van!

Next up is a short exhibition in Peterborough Queensgate, another overnight install into a shopping centre. Brick Wonders is appearing for one week only over half term, and we’re also delivering a mosaic event which is free to take part in.

Shopping centre loading bays may not be the most visually exciting - but at least we know there’s a good place to unload!

What’s next? Well, so far 2023 will be taking us to Bath, Northampton, The National Museum of flight (twice!), Copenhagen, Barcelona, Canton Ohio and Washington DC. Watch this space!
